Prison Break – Season 3

PRISON BREAK combines the hope of “The Shawshank Redemption,” the camaraderie of “The Longest Yard” and the tense procedure and spectacle of “The Great Escape.” This intriguing new series will reveal additional pieces of the puzzle each week as Michael carries out his daring plan to mastermind the ultimate prison break – and solve the far-reaching national-scale conspiracy that landed his brother there in the first place. Fox has picked up Prison Break (Mondays at 8 pm/ET) for a third season — but earning that green light was no easy feat for the serialized thriller that, having busted its cons out of the clink at the end of Season 1, ran the risk of exhausting not just its scrambling fugitives, but its storytelling options as well.

The Brothers

2.jpgPrison Break has a set of talented actors that make up the whole series. Some of these appear regularly and some are recurring guest stars. The characters that regularly appear in the Season 1 were the cons at the Fox River State Penitentiary. The brothers Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scolfield were the lead roles through out the series and each were played by Dominic Purcell and Michael Scolfield respectively. Lincoln was a convicted murderer of the brother of the Vice President of the United States, Terrence Steadman while Michael was Lincoln’s brother who is a structural engineer and who a made a very elaborate plan of helping his brother from escaping the prison.

The Escape Plot

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

4.jpgMichael Scolfield created a very impressive plot of helping his brother get out of prison. Being a structural engineer, Scolfield carefully studied the whole Fox River Penitentiary area, from the buildings, entry and exit points, down to the sub-tunnels. The escape starts in his cell where he made a hole behind the toilet. This brings him to the prison tunnels that will eventually lead to the infirmary. The infirmary serves as the end point of the escape route. A thick wire was connected to the infirmary window directly to the main walls of the prison. Scolfield made sure that he brings with him the blue print of the whole prison as a guide in fulfilling his plans by tattooing it all over his upper body.

Why Prison Break has to end

ABC has only recently announced the popular series Lost would be ending after three more 16-episode seasons – ample time, fans hope, to cleanly wrap up the convoluted story of the plane crash survivors. The series has been criticized for seemingly leading loyal views on.

For the producers of Prison Break, the same reasons apply. Fox released a statement not too long ago that the 4th season of the jailbreak series would be its last. In an interview here, Prison Break executive producer Zack Estrin revealed that they long had the feeling the series would be ended by Fox, and have subsequently adjusted the story so that they would have a good and solid ending when the time came. Estrin stated that to continue the story and stretch it would be “irresponsible”.

Prison Break – The Last Few Months

Saturday, January 31st, 2009

pbreakThe TV series has been canceled and the last episode will be airing on April 17, 2009. this is the fate of the hit TV series that has so captured the world much like Lost and Heroes which have captivated the hearts and minds of people who are kept guessing by a new form of programming. Lost and Heroes have taken the programming level up a notch by including periodic flashbacks and fast-forwards where the past, present and future are tied in. Prison Break was canceled mainly due to the dwindling TV audience that has been down considerably from an estimated 10.5 million down to 6.1 which is a very large gap. There is also competition from the other two action/adventure shows we have mentioned that borders on the same storyline, that of totally alien individuals who suddenly find themselves stuck on each other as they try to live out their lives.
Initially a hit, it even gave birth to mobile mini-video versions that allowed the growing mobile market to see and watch their favorite show on their mobile phones. But maybe this wasn’t quite enough to keep the ball rolling. The show is over and fans will have to settle for the many other TV series that are now on the tube.

Prison Break – Taking a Break

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

t seems as if the story wouldn’t end but announcement from FOX’s Kevin Reilly have solidified the fears of many who have been following the four year old saga that delves into the lives of our favorite Prison escapees. The show is to end which may be due to the worsening economy and the network might simply be cutting losses with shows that are not quite making the mark. Corporate insists that this is not the case, and go on by simply stating that the story has gone out and the flame is dying. Reilly said at a press gathering in LA. :

“We didn’t just give it the hook,” he told a gathering of TV critics in Los Angeles. “The show is just played out.”

This might be a good thing for how long can a story of two guys and their friends who want to either escape or prove innocence in the face of mother justice, with cops and almost everybody else after them go on. This might also be a nice thing to do for unlike some other TV series shows that might never end! (you guess which is which).

Prison Break Out of Seven

Prison Break breaks out of Channel Seven, not because they wanted to, but because the channel wanted to. How sad. It seems that Prison Break fanatics are running low of luck. The axing was seen after only receiving 427,000 viewers last week. Now the show is being pushed for the summer. It is known that recently, Channel 9 took out Fringe and Channel 10 on the other hand said bye bye to 90210. So Prison Break will have three weeks off air. Heroes is slowly suffering the same fate. While Bones, the procedural crime drama remains on her slot. US drama series obviously suffered a very tough and rough year this 2008. The trend is beginning to emerge. It seems that audiences prefer self containing story lines, that way it doesn’t require much commitment.
